The only way to get a clear gauge on what your energy consumption is in real time and which appliance/device is responsible for it is to use an energy monitor, like the Powerpal energy monitor.
By switching appliances on and off, your energy monitor will tell you how much energy they are using and what it is costing you. This is a great way to identify power-hogs or inefficient appliances. You will also be able to see how much energy is being used at night and when you are not in the house. This will alert you to any always-on appliances that need to be upgraded to a more efficient model or if things are being left on that could be turned off.
